10-10-25 THOUGHTS
Some thoughts this morning on our joint participation in the grace of God. Paul’s thought of “every prayer for all” is powerful. We need to be a people of active prayer! The word “participation” in verse 5 is koinonia. It’s the word for fellowship. It has great place and meaning in the New Testament. Verse 6 finds its way into my prayers frequently. “Lord, finish what You started in this place years ago!” Paul says most simply... “I have you in my heart...”! They are “joint-partakers together” in the gospel. The koinonia word is used again with a prefix pressing the joint idea. This is beautiful “US” thinking.
Php 1:3-7 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, 5 in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. 6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. 7 For it is only right for me to feel this way about you all, because I have you in my heart, since both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of grace with me.
Our Prayer:
Father God, teach us the fellowship idea that You designed into the blood bought Church. Teach us love in the highest applied sense. Help us to have each other in our hearts continually. May we learn new levels of working together in love, as we advance the Kingdom. May Your great love resonate within us as the local body of Christ, rejoicing together as we serve You. You designed it, O God, help us to make it work as intended. We love You O God... In Jesus we pray, Amen.
